Recommended starting points for compressor ratio, attack, and release by mix element.
Mix Element Settings
These are starting points, not rules. Attack and release are calculated from note values at your tempo — try other denominations as you dial things in. Higher ratios and shorter attacks add aggression; longer releases add more sustain and punch. Not relevant for optical compression.
